International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
California Licensed Midwife (LM)
Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)
I combine evidence-based, gentle clinical care and emotional support with my sixteen years of experience attending hundreds of births and accompanying families through the postpartum process.
After a decade of training and practicing as a midwife I decided to retire from home birth in order to slow down focus on the part of birth I love most: being with families.
Letting go of the medical management, I can be more present and enjoy the part of labor where the rest of the world stops existing and there’s nowhere more important that anyone in the birth room could conceive of being. Or the patience and quiet in helping a newborn latch or waiting for a baby to finish a feed while I answer questions and help parents troubleshoot the postpartum period.
It is my honor and privilege to assist in the transition as families grow and celebrate their new little human.
A researcher at heart, I love to learn what’s new in breastfeeding medicine and adapt my practice to the growing body of science about lactation.
I am an active member of the National Nurse’s Union campaign for CalCare (universal healthcare in California).
I also love photography and all the photographs on this site were taken be me - except the ones of me!
